Jamie Lee's Me Time Moments

1. Name, profession + how long have you been in your current profession?

Jamie Lee Mock // Craniosacral Therapist & Embodiment Coach // I've been deep into healing work for many years but it has been my "profession" for just over 3 years.

2. What is your Astrological sign? What is your Human Design? (if you know it)

Virgo sun, Sag moon, Capricorn rising // Generator (Emotional Authority, Triple Split, 6/2 Role Model Hermit)

3. What is your cup of tea?

PICK ME UP - "I've got mountains to move and lives to change!"

4. Where did you grow up + what was your childhood like?

I grew up in a small farm community in British Columbia. Being an only child of a single mama, I often enjoyed spending quiet time alone. That said, because it was just us, I was brought along to many events, gatherings and adventures that many young ones wouldn't necessarily have the option to experience. This gave me a powerful foundation as a child. A sense of freedom and autonomy. The opportunity experience humans of all kinds, travelling to foreign countries and deepening my connection to my mama. And although we were "tight" on cash for a majority of my younger years, the experiences I was exposed to enriched my life in ways I am incredibly grateful for now.

5. What was your first job?

My first "real" job was a front desk clerk at a drycleaners! I was 13 years old. Though I will say, I've had an entrepreneurs mind since a young age! When I was 8 years old, I began making beaded necklaces for my mama's coworkers to hang their name tags. I ended up selling of $2k worth of necklaces in a few short months and bought my first bicycle!

6. When do you believe your inner self journey began?

My journey began when I enrolled myself in a Holistic Nutrition program. This practice, learning and growth opened up so many doors for me including yoga, meditation and spirituality. Before this, even though I had always been quite self-aware, I was unconscious of my thoughts, patterns, beliefs and behaviours.

As momentum would have it, I began searching for ways in which I could incorporate my newfound knowledge and passion for health and wellbeing.

Only 6 months after I graduated, I left my corporate job to pursue my own business. A herbal kombucha business! Little did I know what I was getting into. What I did know was that it was in alignment with my heart in that moment. I began harvesting my own ingredients with herbs and botanicals found locally, brewing with the cycles of the moon and sharing this gut-healing beverage with everyone I knew.

Simultaneously, I met my (then) partner who also opened up many doors, catapulting me into growth I didn’t know was possible. Growth in healing. Growth in intimacy. Growth in spirituality.

On a day like many others, I went around pitching my kombucha to health food stores. I stumbled across a smoothie bar and while delivering kombucha samples, decided to grab something delicious for the day. As I was awaiting my smoothie, I saw a flyer. It was for a “Medical Intuitive." I was immediately drawn to this healing modality and decided to make an appointment.

Since studying Holistic Nutrition, I began incredibly aware of the imbalanced state my body was in — this was divine timing.

I began seeing this woman, who, after our session, suggested I get on the massage table for a treatment. Of what, I had no idea.

Turns out, she facilitated a Craniosacral Therapy session and kin to magic, I experienced pain relief, a deeper connection to self and complete bliss. I was in awe of this kind of work but said nothing. I continued working with her for only two more sessions when she extended the offer for me to join in on one of her classes.

Craniosacral Level 1. Without hesitation, I agreed. Even though at that point I still did not have much of an idea what kind of healing it was. Craniosacral Level 1 came and went and I quickly signed up for Level 2. In the midst of this learning, I was dealt a hand I was not expecting. The most significant romantic relationship of my life came to end, along with it, the closing of my kombucha business as well as debt beyond my imagination (from the business closure along side a shit-end-of-the-stick agreement with said partner).

With what felt like nothing left of life as I knew it… I took time to heal.

This was a long process of grieving, releasing anger, getting in touch with my emotional body, therapy, bodywork and sacred medicine journeying.

As I began to emerge from darkness, I decided to take my power back. I honoured what I needed to heal and it was time to move on. This is when I decided to make bold moves and dive into Craniosacral Therapy as my “profession.” I continued my learning and began offering it as a healing modality. At the same time, I moved to a small rainforest surf town on Vancouver Island in British Columbia to finally live life according to my rules. My desires. My soul.

I now have a thriving Craniosacral Therapy practice and have spent countless hours studying and working alongside mentors for bodywork, somato emotional release work, intimacy, tantra and embodiment. Learning and practicing is a part of my every day.

I intend to live what I teach. My time is spent in practice (ecstatic dance, yoga, breath work), surfing and cold water therapy, exploring what it means to experience “intimacy” with others, diving into the mind, psyche and soul with plant spirit medicines, indulging in learning (reading, writing, audiobooks, podcasts), spending time in community, living slow slow slow, enjoying good quality food, cooking and foraging for local medicinal plants.

And I feel this is only the beginning.

7. What was a pivotal Me Time Moment in your life?

A pivotal Me Time Moment that I experienced was in the ending of my last relationship. I had unconsciously enmeshed myself with my partner during our time together, so much so, that my feminine essence began to diminish. I created a masculine shell in order to keep the relationship alive. I was "doing" (a more masculine essence trait) more instead of "being" (a more feminine essence trait). I began directing the momentum of the relationship which I now feel diminished any intimate polarity we previously had. In turn, I felt drained, unhappy, unheard, unseen.

When I made the decision to end the relationship, although one of the most challenging decisions I've had to make, was when I took my power back. A Me Time Moment that has changed my life in the most powerful of ways.
